The UK's most expensive car park?
2007-05-01
A railway station car park has been revealed as the UK's most expensive – charging commuters £55 for four hours.
Motorists are charged a crippling £3.90 an hour, rising to £11 for two hours, £35 for three and £55 for four.
If drivers stay even longer, they're charged £20 for each additional 60 minutes.
But this car park isn’t in London – usually hailed as the UK's costliest place to park – it is sited in Birmingham's New Street.
The fees charged by owners, NCP, were slammed by campaigners. Nigel Humphries of the Association of British Drivers said: "It is shocking and should not be allowed."
